I’m coming off a high of a good work week last week…making this monday a little less…difficult.
This weekend was full…but lovely.
I started out Saturday morning with a intermural soccer game. Go Kittie Purries (yes, that is our team name). My brother and I got to play with some friends from work and new fuller friends. it was so much fun! also…my legs are sore in a way that only my 17 year old self remembers. yowza. but…a blast none the less. we were robbed and walked a way with a 2-2 tie.
post game i quickly got ready and went on a wedding dress hunt adventure with miss hefty…so soon to be mrs. shaw. it was tons of fun. she looked beeeeautiful in EVERYTHING…which made it so difficult to choose. im pretty sure shes got her heart set on one…and i think it couldnt be a more perfect fit.
unfortunately, ive got some health shtuff going on…and it kinda kicked in mid shop…so i was a little out of it for the last part of the adventure. a little frustrating but still so excited for my dear friend.
after a bit of lay down and recover time…the hubs took me out to dinner. and we topped our night of with some cake boss and snuggles.
brett and i are uber competitive. its the reason why we can only play donkey kong for short periods of time. we gauge our competitive scale by whether we love each other or not whilst mid game…if the answer is no…we shut it off…and hug.
for two competitive people…this was the best advice.
we are in constant back and forth of trying to out love one another.
in little ways…big ways…and ways that we specifically need.
as i mentioned ive been waking up and making sure brett has foods and love before he starts his day. this is coming from a place of wanting to do something nice for my husband, just because, hes my husband. (ive learned to not expect things in return…expectations are dangerous). yesterday he fired back with a surprise beverage and him as a lunch buddy.
this morning brett has the day off and i woke up early to shower…when i got out and started to get ready…there was a lunch bag on the counter for “bayor” (thats me)…and a smirky husband still in bed.
little things. bring lots of love and little sleepy kisses in the lemster home.
we arent perfect by any means. sometimes i need to speak up and tell him what im needing (he cant read my mind…allthetime). and sometimes i need a little grace from him (im a bit feisty at times). we are learning. together. every step of the way in this wonderfully difficult and rewarding walk called marriage.
